DANIEL 2 AND REVELATION 17

ARE THE TEN TOES OF KING NEB'S DREAM IMAGE OF DANIEL 2 AND THE TEN HORNS OF REV 17 ONE AND THE SAME?

I HAVE PONDERED THIS QUESTION FOR MANY YEARS AND BEEN SWAYED TOWARD THE ANSWER "YES" AT TIMES AND THE ANSWER "NO" AT OTHER TIMES.  HOWEVER, COULD IT BE THAT I HAVE BEEN OVERLOOKING THE OBVIOUS?

I have shown repeatedly in the pages of these Commentaries who the legs and toes of King Neb's dream image are.  It is both that make up the end time Roman Empire called Babylon by the prophets. 

The Roman Empire did not fall in 476 AD as we were led to believe in histories written by pseudo scholars.  If you simply look up the Byzantine Empire in any encyclopedia, you can see for yourself that the Roman Empire only changed names.  Now, granted, there was some scrambling of history because Rome did fall to the Israelite invaders in 476 AD --- but Rome was not the Roman Empire Capitol at that time.  It had been moved to Byzantium more than a hundred years previously by Constantine and Byzantine had been renamed Constantinople in honor of this charismatic emperor who was diverting so much wealth to their city. 

The center of the Roman Empire evidently was moved back to Rome after the area stabilized and then the Vatican was built to house their religious faction and future inheritor of "...all the power" of the empire for the purpose of administering the inquisition.   (See Rev 13).  The empire went underground at that time for the purpose of hiding the identity of the fourth beast of Daniel 7.  This, of course, also fit the purpose of Satan for '...deceiving the whole world" as we can see in Rev 12:9. 

This is the picture of the world today where Americans haven't a clue as to where we fit into the prophetic picture and it would seem the whole world is confused as to who occupies the little counterfeit nation named "Israel" today.  It would seem that even the recently elected president of the U.S. is deceived as to who these squatters are.  Could it be because he is one of them? And that is only the tip of "deception iceberg" of today's world.

But many events are pointing to these days being the time spoken of by the prophets as the "...time of the end" and none more convincingly that the 12th chapter of Daniel.  The book of Daniel was sealed at the time of writing and not to be unsealed until the time of the end.  That unsealing came in 2011 with the fulfillment of verses 42-43 of Daniel 11 and that event was broadcast on network news as the piracy of both Egypt and Libya. 

There is much discussion as to just how long the "time of the end" lasts and perhaps it would be interesting to know that seven years is up in February 2018. 

Is that significant?  Is it significant that massive troop and equipment moves are right now being made to Eastern Europe?

Is significant that Damascus has already been virtually reduced to "...a ruinous heap"?  Is it significant that all the major powers of the earth are on high alert for WW III? 

Is WW III the event where the Most High intervenes in the affairs of mankind?  (See Isaiah 13:5). 

And are these ten toes of Daniel 2 and ten horns of Rev 17 one and the same?  We see that the ten horns "...hate the whore and eat her flesh and destroy her with fire".  Is this the destruction of the Vatican?  Could it be by a coalition of Christian/Muslim forces? 

Let's take another look at the ten toes and the ten horns to see if perhaps we have overlooked something.  In Daniel 2:44, we see that the ten toes are "...ten kings". 

In Revelation 17:12, we see that the ten horns are " . . . ten kings".  The context of both these scriptures is the end of the age.

How likely is it that there would be two sets of ten kings operating in the world arena at that time?  If there were, then we should logically think that Rev 17 would specify which set of ten kings --- but it doesn't.  Therefore, I feel we can logically conclude that these two sets of ten kings are one and the same.  And since, in prophetic parlance, horns represent military, I feel we can also assume these are military commanders.
